Spaghetti Factory offers gourmet Italian in a relaxing atmosphere

By allison sheffler

Walking into the Chesterfield Spaghetti Factory, the sight is something unique. It’s decorated with pictures from older Spaghetti Factories and big chandeliers. It also includes trolleys with booths for customers to sit in. When customers walk in, they describe the feeling inside as homey, friendly, and welcoming.

“I love coming here because of the unique decorations,” customer Dan Batten said. “It’s a little out of the way but I think the drive is definitely worth it.”

The Spaghetti Factory has been a national chain and family owned business since 1969. Most customers who come to the Factory said it’s been a nice change to other fast paced Italian places.

“I like the Spaghetti Factory because the service is wonderful,” customer Pam Wilson said. “They are always there to help with whatever you need and they are fast.”

On top of having a friendly atmosphere, the Old Spaghetti Factory has 37 locations in 14 states, making it accessible to many people looking for a change. The locations in Missouri are in Chesterfield and St. Louis. The workers there start and often stay there.

“I’ve worked here for two years,” waitress Wendy Collna said. “I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon either.”

Both costumers, Wilson and Batten, described the prices as moderate. The meals offered are with a drink, bread, soup or salad, and the entree itself.

“Our prices our low because at any other [Italian] restaurant, you would pay the same price for just the entree,” Collna said. “I think that’s what keeps our customers coming back.”

Customers usually don’t have to wait very long for a table and if they are concerned, the Spaghetti Factory offers call ahead reservations.

“The call ahead is a good idea because if people are worried about not getting a table, they can just call ahead,” Batten said.
